Digital Range of Motion

The EasyAngle Tool is important in chiropractic care because it provides objective, precise, and efficient digital measurements of joint range of motion.

EasyAngle Tool

How it works:

Establishing a baseline: The device is calibrated to a zero-degree reference point while the patient is in a neutral, starting position. For the spine, a chiropractor may use two inclinometers—one at the top and one at the bottom of the targeted spinal segment—to calculate the "true angle" of movement.

Measuring movement: As the patient moves a joint through its range of motion, the digital tool automatically tracks and records the angles achieved. The sensor provides a precise, real-time readout of the maximum angle reached.

Capturing data: For devices that use computer vision, a camera captures the patient's movement, and a software platform analyzes the motion. Some tools also log and store the measurements automatically, which helps streamline patient charting.

Analyzing results: The chiropractor compares the patient's measurements to established norms for range of motion, helping to identify any restrictions, pain-related limitations, or instabilities.
